Account & Data Deletion Policy
Effective date: 19 October 2026
How to ask for deletion
- Email support@safeqrs.com with the subject "Account and Data Deletion Request".
- Write the mobile number or email you sign in with.
- We may ask a question to confirm it is your account, then confirm when it is done.
Never send passwords, OTPs or UPI PINs. We will never ask for them.
1. Purpose
This policy explains how a Safe QRs user can request deletion of their account and personal data, and what happens to QR codes, stickers, family access, alerts and records when deletion is processed.
2. How to request deletion
To request account deletion, use the account deletion option in the app if available, or email support@safeqrs.com with the subject “Account and Data Deletion Request”. Include the account’s registered email address or mobile number and enough information to identify the account. Do not send passwords, OTPs, UPI PINs or other secrets.
We may ask for reasonable verification to make sure the request comes from the account holder or an authorised representative. If you cannot access the account, explain this in the request so we can offer an appropriate verification route.
3. What deletion means
After a valid request is verified, we will take steps to delete or de-identify the account’s personal data that is no longer needed for a lawful purpose. This may include profile details, owner messages, family-contact associations, QR/sticker settings, and associated service data, subject to the exceptions below.
Deleting an account may deactivate free digital QR codes and prevent access to account features. If a printed QR sticker has already been distributed, it may continue to be physically scannable until the linked service is disabled or the QR destination no longer returns the same functionality. We will take reasonable steps to deactivate or unlink the code associated with a deleted account where technically possible. Users should not assume a printed sticker is automatically destroyed when an app account is deleted.
Family members may stop receiving alerts associated with the deleted account. Any invite links or access tokens associated with the account should be revoked where technically possible.
4. Data that may be retained
We may retain limited information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, maintain tax/accounting records, verify payments, handle refunds or chargebacks, prevent fraud, investigate security incidents, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or protect the rights and safety of users and the public. Retained data will be restricted to the relevant purpose and retained only as long as necessary or legally required.
Information already lawfully included in a recipient’s email, notification, device, or independent records may not be retrievable or erasable by us. Backups may also retain residual copies for a limited period until they are overwritten or securely deleted.
5. Retention schedule for service records
Our systems automatically delete scan records after 180 days, location records after 60 days and photos after 7 days, where applicable. These periods do not replace a deletion request and do not guarantee immediate removal from all backups.
Order, payment, tax, security, consent and complaint records may be kept separately for the period needed to meet legal or operational requirements. The retention schedule may be changed to comply with law or to minimise data retention, with the policy updated as appropriate.
6. Processing time and confirmation
We will acknowledge a deletion request and process it within the period required by applicable law. If we need further information to verify the request, the processing period may depend on receiving that information. We will communicate when the request has been completed or explain any lawful reason why some information cannot be deleted.
Deletion may not be reversible. If you want to keep any information or need to complete an order or download relevant records, do so before deletion where possible.
7. Requests by parents, guardians or authorised representatives
A parent, guardian or legally authorised representative may submit a request where permitted by law and may be asked to provide reasonable evidence of authority. We will handle requests involving children or vulnerable persons with appropriate care and in accordance with applicable law.
8. Contact and complaints
Send requests or complaints to support@safeqrs.com with the subject “Account and Data Deletion Request” or “Privacy Grievance”.
In an emergency, always call 112 first.
