Good to know
Does the person who scans need an app?
No. Any phone camera works, and so do the GPay, PhonePe and Paytm scanners. A simple web page opens, even on old phones.
Will they see my phone number?
Never. They see only the message you wrote and the emergency numbers. Calls go over the internet through Safe QRs, so neither side sees the other's number.
Does it cost anything for the person who scans?
No. The scan page never asks for money, UPI, an OTP or a card. If anything asks you to pay, it is not us.
Will my family be disturbed for small things?
No. Everyday problems like "lights are left on" go only to you. Your family is alerted for real emergencies, or if you cannot be reached.
Does Safe QRs replace 112?
No. In an emergency, call 112 first. Safe QRs reaches you and your family. 112, 108, 100 and 101 are always one tap away on the scan page.
What if someone photographs my sticker?
A photo of the QR can only open the same help page. To claim a sticker you need its secret code, which comes with it, or the account that bought it.
Does it work without internet?
The person who scans needs mobile data or Wi-Fi to open the page and alert you. The emergency numbers on the page work as normal phone calls.
Which languages are there?
The app is in English by default, with Hindi and 20 more Indian languages. The scan page is in English and Hindi.
How do I pay for stickers?
In the app, by UPI with GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or any UPI app. We never ask for your UPI PIN.
